Updated storyline

We follow one main character dancing through Leeds. They will be noticeably different to the public around them, something that will make them stand out eg: bright clothes/hair/tattoos/piercings and most importantly dancing. They will be moving in an eccentric and confident way whilst the public walk by normally.

They will dance to an alleyway in which they will see a similar person stood at the other end, after noticing each other they will dance to each other, this will all be slow motion and will have a tense build up. when they meet the world around them will go dark and they will be transported to an alternate world away from the public. we will make it look dream like with fairy lights and mirrors. they will dance together in this world.

We will introduce a third character (the controller) who tries to pull them apart from each other, the audience will make this link through seeing the controller move something on the control pad and then one of the dancers will move in correlation. We want a noticeable feature on the main characters hand to then reveal to the audience that the person controlling the dancers is the a normalised version of the main character trying to make themselves fit in and stop being themselves which is who they are fighting to be.

They will be held back by the controller forcing them to move away and also ropes holding them back (this is gospel reference). eventually they will break through the ropes and dance together again, the world will go back to normal and the control room will be empty. They will be together dancing in the alleyway with no one trying to control them anymore. the overall message is that being yourself is more important than trying to fit in and be someone you're not, and when you are yourself you will be happy.
